history//sei's father died very early. though sei remains in denial with a silly story of his father dying honorably in combat with a monster poring, but the majority of folks who know of grey mallory know that he killed himself after a controversial public declaration by one of his former lovers: theoretically, he'd been a homosexual. sei knew this lover for until he was five as uncle aatto, before uncle aatto himself died via suicide, leaving sei and his mother isolated in their existance. his father having died when he was too young to remember him, sei was supported by only his mother when selected to become a guardian-in-training.

as for today, the only bit of knowledge sei accepts of his father is that his last name is notoriously bad.

sei doesn't know his father's history but has, on occasion, introduced himself as sei mallory. the reaction adn the rumors of his father's beavhior have lead him to eliminate the last name all together. if pressed to present a last name, he will often lie with something obviously fake like tellamoredew, and insist he's just foreign.

his mother, agatha, was a simple merchant and when he left her to become a guardian had risen to become a rather successful merchant - she sold religious artefacts to those zealots of the freyan temples that were also endowed with a certain cheapness. her robes fell apart at the seams and all of her little statues were missing small details - one would have seven toes and another would only have one working eye.

sei was aware of these horrendous oversights but thought they were just part of the scales of morality - and when an unhappy customer would come to complain about his mother's wares, he'd give them three or four blackeyes and maybe a broken rib. through these fear tactics his mother became known as one of the best merchants in rahell - simply because of these fear tactics.

sei grew up with his mother; reading to pass the time and the missing social action - and lo and behold, he was collected for guardianship.
